My videos are all newer and my eyes are not that critical on watching on a small screen.īoth VLC and PowerDVD have always identified and played all formats I have used. Supposedly, PowerDVD gives the best image available on any format and on older videos, but I really haven’t noticed it. I don’t even know what else is available right now unless it’s with a video editor. Based on reviews, I tried a few other products, but since PowerDVD is always rated the best, I stuck with it. I don’t use all the features available, I just basically play back videos. Nothing wrong with VLC, it plays videos fine and it is free, but PowerDVD has a more polished feel and look to it. VLC is a bit simplistic to me and I just feel more comfortable with PowerDVD. Over the years I have tried other viewers, but I haven’t found any that compare to the PowerDVD. Unfortunately, Cyberlink only allowed upgrades from version 16. I have been using the Cyberlink PowerDVD product for maybe 20 years now. ![]()
